MCS teamed with a group of design
professionals from various local firms to design and
construct
a new, two-story 7,600 sf facility at the Fire and Technology
Center campus in Montana. The facility is
used for training US Forest Service (USFS) personnel and
to coordinate resources for wildland firefighting in
the Rocky Mountain West. To meet the project requirements of the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the USFS,
MCS
● |
coordinated the design of all civil, architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical components of the facility; |
● |
coordinated with the USACE and USFS to optimize the features of the building while remaining within the budget; |
● |
demolished and backfilled the basement of an existing structure located within the footprint of the new facility; |
● |
designed and constructed advanced communications, data, security and back-up power systems to be easily upgradeable to maintain future performance; |
● |
optimized the building's features while maintaining the historic character of the surrounding campus and adhering to the budget; and |
● |
designed, installed, and permitted two, 8-inch, reduced-pressure principle, backflow preventors on the 10-inch water main serving the entire campus. |
