MCS Environmental’s engineering services include
remediation and reclamation design, floodplain delineation,
stream channel design, and Spill Prevention Control
Countermeasure plans under US Environmental
Protection Agency regulations.
MCS
installed a soil vapor extraction system at the Canyon Village maintenance
shop in Yellowstone Park. Gasoline spills from fueling facilities impacted
the soil and shallow groundwater at the facility. The
project was completed under the regulatory supervision
of the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality.
To fulfill the project requirements, MCS
● |
installed six horizontal extraction wells due to seasonal high groundwater in the area; |
● |
sealed horizontal extraction wells with plastic and bentonite to prevent short-circuiting; |
● |
took over the operations and maintenance of an existing free-product skimming system; and |
● |
monitored 20 wells at the facility in 2005 on a quarterly basis. |
