Hydrogeologic investigation services include: surface
and
groundwater modeling; water resource investigation;
beneficial use permitting; aquatic testing; and Public
Water
Supply (PWS-6) report completion for the Montana
Department of Environmental Quality.
MCS conducted a remedial investigation for gasoline
contamination at a petroleum bulk facility. As required
on this
project, MCS
|
|
● |
installed and monitored 10 groundwater monitoring wells; |
● |
monitored and interpreted two dissolved gasoline plumes to determine threats to nearby water supply wells; and |
● |
recovered free diesel product from a third release. |
In addition, MCS advanced PowerProbe™ test holes,
and
obtained and analyzed water samples using an on-site,
portable gas chromatograph to determine the down gradient
extent of the dissolved plumes. Results of the down
gradient and existing water quality data was used to
develop a risked-based corrective action model for the
site. Semiannual monitoring is ongoing.
