| MCS was responsible for three phases
of construction at the Shenango Helibase near Big Sky,
Montana.
MCS constructed the septic system, RV pad, and
utilities at the Shenango administrative site. Underground utility work proved challenging due to the presence of below-grade rock in many areas.
MCS provided value engineering design
and installation of
the helicopter operations facility. The building was
needed to support US Forest Service helicopter firefighting
crews. The project presented challenges due to limited
availability of quality local contractors and extreme
seasonal weather.
MCS installed a helicopter
landing pad to support wildland fire suppression operations
for the Gallatin National Forest. The pad included a 25,000 GVW-rated slab and in-slab
communication and water supply. A spray-on layer of high-strength, non-slip polymer concrete provided the final surface finish. |
